The Casey County High School academic team participated in district competition on Saturday, January 25, taking overall runner-up in one of the toughest districts in the state.
The quick recall team, consisting of Riley Mondie (captain), Elizabeth Grider, Breyanna Lilly, Brennen Tillquist, Bradin Bowmer, Liam Brown, Naomi Coleman, Angel Lee, Tyler Short, and Landen Bulington took second place.
The future problem solving team, consisting of Lily Johnson, Walker Emerson, Vrut Patel, and Sam Gossage, were also runners-up.
In individual competition, Bowmer and Onna Kelley were runner-up and third place in written composition, respectively. Johnson took fifth place in math.
In science, Tillquist was runner-up and Lilly came in third. Grider took third place in language arts, while Lilly took fourth. Grider was also third in arts and humanities, with Coleman taking fourth place and Lee fifth.
