As graduation looms for the Class of 2026, many Casey County High School seniors are setting their sights on more than just diplomas.
For some, it’s about finishing what they started. For others, it’s about completing one last goal before walking across the stage.
One senior, Mckenna Wilham, a dedicated DECA member, has her eyes set on a major milestone: qualifying for DECA Internationals in Georgia.
“Ever since I joined DECA last year, I have loved every aspect of it,” she said.
“And when I graduate, I would love to remember this accomplishment.”
She’s been pouring her free time into preparing for competition, hoping to not only advance but also leave a lasting impact on the club she loves. “Another goal I would like to accomplish is growing the CCHS DECA chapter for years to come,” she said. “I think the more people to join, the more uplifting our chapter will be.”
For other students, the bucket list is about closure.
Mark Clements, a CCHS football player, has already achieved one goal. “I’ve accomplished what I wanted: finishing my senior year of football,” he said.
He described the end of his football journey as “bittersweet.”
“I’ve played football all my life,” he said. “I have more time now, but I’ll definitely miss playing with the team.”
He compared the feeling to finishing a favorite TV series that ends too soon.
“Sometimes, I just wish I had more time,” he said.
Mark has moved on and found another goal to work towards for his senior year: “Pass Ms. Wethington’s college class.”
Senior Addison Harris is focused on finding clarity, specifically on her plans for the future.
“The number one thing I hope to achieve by the time I graduate is to solidify my post-graduation plan,” she said.
As someone who describes herself as indecisive, she has been touring colleges and exploring career paths to find the right fit.
“Accomplishing this goal means having the security of a plan during a time in life that can feel so stress-inducing,” Harris said.
Whether it’s about competition, closure, or clarity, the CCHS senior bucket list is more than a checklist — it’s a reflection of what matters most to students as they prepare to leave high school behind.
