Many students at Casey County High School have things that they are passionate about. Some students have even found ways to monetize their passion.
Two seniors, Deysi Ramirez and Nixmari Catalan-Dominguez, have done just that by creating their own Bouquet business.
One of the first things one must do when starting a business is come up with a name. Ramirez and Catalan-Dominguez decided to name their business ¨Deysi and Nixmari Bouquets.¨
When it comes to creating your own business, many different things can provide inspiration.
¨The thing that inspired us the most was our love for flowers,¨ Ramirez said.
Although running a business can take a lot of hard work, it’s important to find things that you enjoy.
¨We love seeing people’s reactions when they see the finished product,¨ Catalan-Dominguez said.
Ramirez and Catalan-Dominguez started their business in early 2025. While they have enjoyed creating bouquets, they have also faced some challenges.
¨The hardest parts of running your own business are finding the correct materials and finding the time to make the bouquets,¨ Catalan-Dominguez said.
Creating the bouquets can take a lot of patience and time, with Ramirez noting it can be ¨from a few days to a week.¨
She added that the products are available with a range of possible prices.
¨It varies depending on what you are wanting and how much detail,¨ Ramirez said.
Catalan-Dominguez and Ramirez have spent their time, patience and money to provide their customers with high-quality products and are actively accepting new customers.
¨Order with us,¨ Ramirez said. ¨We would appreciate if you let us know two weeks in advance.¨
Catalan-Dominguez and Ramirez also had some advice to those who are considering starting their own business.
¨If you want to start your own business, do it,¨ Catalan-Dominguez said.
¨Even if you think it won’t go anywhere,¨ Ramirez added.
